Important Property Notes
• Internet Data Limitations. Blue Ridge Barkway has moderate internet for the first 100 GB of monthly usage. Beyond this, internet data is limited, and may only support basic email activities.
• No Mountain Discovery Pass
Please note that Blue Ridge Barkway does NOT include the Mountain Discovery Pass (the included Biltmore Ticket, Skiing Pass, or other seasonal activities). We hope that you enjoy the low rental prices and beautiful views, even though these gifts are not included at this property.
• 4WD or AWD Required : Often the best views in WNC are the hardest to get to. The property you are staying at requires a 4WD or AWD vehicle to access year round due to the steep gravel road leading to house and driveway. Please ensure that your vehicle is properly equipped and the 4WD/AWD feature is engaged before attempting to access the property. Vehicles that are not equipped with this feature may incur service charges for towing if they get stuck, or for repairs to the driveway necessitated by a 2WD vehicle spinning for traction. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance as well (i.e. SUV, Truck, or raised sedan). Low-clearance vehicles with 4WD/AWD are not recommended. For the extra effort, however, you are rewarded with seclusion, beauty, and a lot of fun just getting there!
• Travel Insurance Recommended: Due to the location of this home, any inclement weather in winter may render it unreachable. We highly recommend guests consider travelers insurance for this property as there are no refunds for weather.
• Noise Ordinance: Blue Ridge Barkway is located in a quiet community where noise travels at night. This home is under a noise ordinance between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. and has a very low noise tolerance. It is not suitable for groups that are looking for late nights of celebration on the back deck. The good news is that we have many properties that offer seclusion, so if moving indoors at 10 p.m. is an inconvenience for you, please give us a call and we will help you find the perfect property to match your needs!
• Non-working Fireplace - Please note, the fireplace at ‘Blue Ridge Barkway’ is non-functional and is purely aesthetic.

Very Clean House
The house was very clean and had very nice blankets for the chilly evenings. The view was beautiful, though a couple of trees do block it a bit. This king-sized bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We would stay at this house again.

Such a beautiful place. What a wonderful view. Thank you! P.S. Our pup had such a great time exploring every nook of the house and the backyard!

"The. ost gorgeous views of the mountains!! Thank you so much for opening this space to all of us including our dogs!! We sure enjoyed the fenced yard, the proximity of the hiking trails was perfect. Thankfully the weather held out for us to hike Water-rock KnobOverlook & Black Rock Mountain. Wheew those were some uphills, but so worth it. The best part aside from the views was cooking as a family. The kitchen was wonderful. "

"Beautiful property, very remote, quiet relaxing and was close to everything we wanted to do. When they tell you 4WD is required, believe them! The drive to the house is no joke! Our kids thought this was the best part! The views from the house and back porch are breathtaking. If you plan on dining out give Frankie’s Italian restaurant a try…excellent food. If you are considering staying in Maggie Valley you won’t be disappointed in this property."

"My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, and could not have been more pleased with Blue Ridge Barkway! The home is spacious, open, nicely decorated, and super squeaky CLEAN. The well-equipped kitchen was easy to navigate and a delight to cook in. When I cooked, it had everything I needed for pots/pans/utensils and then some! It's stocked with most basic dry condiments and baking needs. The master bed was delightfully comfortable, and opening the deck slider door at night to sleep with the cool mountain air was a nice treat. The big pluses for us were definitely the secure fenced yard (with motion lights) and even extra dog beds provided for the pups. But, above all else - the quiet, seclusion and MOUNTAIN VIEWS! Needless to say, while at the house, we spent 95% of our time on the more than spacious deck enjoying the quiet, delicious forest scents, beautiful star-studded night skies, and breathtaking views. We even chose to forgo our dinner reservations for Sat/Sun evenings...and chose to do carry-out and enjoy our dinners watching the sunset on the deck. Highly recommend Frankie's Italian Trattoria in Maggie Valley - YUMMY! We could have made a fire in the living room fireplace, but again, we wanted to enjoy the outside air and gorgeous views with our dogs, especially at night. We had a marvelous time and will definitely return to Blue Ridge Barkway for future adventures. Thank you for helping making our milestone anniversary one to remember and cherish! You won't be disappointed in renting this home! "

"Hi there, I'm Cora! I just wanted to say this place is awesome! We went to the Cherokee Museum! We saw elk! I love how they decorated. I have a favorite part. The view! The view is so pretty! Thanks for having us. Hi I'm Eden. I loved this house. It has amazing rooms. I want to go here again. I want to live here. Hi we're the Adults. We had such a lovely visit to the Blue Ridge Barkway. Our entire family was comfortable from pets to kids to adults. The home was extremely well stocked with thoughtful touches everywhere. It was very clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job. The view off the deck is phenomenal and we spent a lot of time out there. We loved the chance to see several different groups of elk in the neighborhood and at the house. The house comfortably accommodated our group of 7 + 2 dogs with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. We all enjoyed it, including the dogs. "

"Loved the location in the private, gated neighborhood, location on the mountain side, THE VIEW is amazing, having the Master On the Main Floor is great, all of the many dog sheets, dog beds, dog supplies is wonderful. Being close to Cherokee, Maggie Valley and Waynesville. Charming home, we will be back again. We had a very positive experience with Carolina Mornings and this property - we would recommend. 5-star furnishings and bedding - kitchen was well stocked. "

Blue Ridge Barkway was exactly what our family needed. It is a spacious and well-stocked house with everything you need. We came for the views of the Smokies and were not disappointed. We spent most of our time on the deck watching the mountains. The sunsets are spectacular here. Plenty of wildlife to watch from hummingbirds to a brief glimpse of the elk herd on top of the hill. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Smoky Mountains! Lots of great hikes - some in the rain - but all good. Sunsets after the rain on the porch - STUNNING! The view is amazing! Thank you!

"We decided on staying in Maggie Valley to celebrate my mom's birthday and this cabin was the perfect choice! It had beautiful views of the mountain, the cabin was clean and very nicely furnished. The drive up the mountain to our cabin was a beautiful ride and very smooth. We were able to walk up and down the mountain and our neighbors were very friendly. We loved our stay and we can't wait to go back!"
Michelle L from Miami, FL - Posted: 8/23/2020
The house was very well stocked and a pleasure to live in for the 4 days we spent here. Everyday the views were new and changing. It was super peaceful. We were able to see the Milky Way on all clear nights with naked eyes from the patio! Would 100% recommend and come back here to vacation. We enjoyed the views day & night!
Shahs from Allen, TX - Posted: 8/6/2020
The home itself is as pictured and the views from the home are amazing. The kitchen is completely stocked you will not need to bring anything. The home is amazingly spacious. If you are bringing your dog they will love this place - a fenced in yard and doggie beds. A great place for families and could accommodate three families easily. My kids loved this place.

"This was a wonderful house, we had three adults and three children and had plenty of room. The kitchen had all the utensils, pots and pans we needed for Thanksgiving. But they are NOT kidding about needing a 4-wheel drive. It was steep."

"My daughter and son-in-law were married last weekend and invited us here with them. It was a very memorable visit. My wife's family has a summer cottage in Bennezette PA so we are used to seeing elk. The views were the highlight of our trip. We saw 3 cow elk several times and there was a bull bugling close by, but we never spotted him. You have a beautiful home here. We enjoyed your spacious kitchen and top of the line appliances. We treated ourselves to one meal out at J. Arthur's Steakhouse in Maggie Valley. It was well worth the $75 per couple. Looking forward to coming back here. Thanks for the Southern hospitality. We appreciate how puggle friendly your establishment is. Bella had as much fun as us."

"This property is totally secluded at the top of the mountain. Immaculately clean. Breathtaking views throughout the entire house. Awesome deck, with lovely, heavy wooden rocking chairs to gaze at the mountaintop view as the clouds literally float by you. The deck goes across the home with sliding doors from both the living room & master bedroom. The open-air living room is bright with the same views as the deck. A total escape from reality. The home is very comfortable & tastefully decorated with subtle yet unique art throughout. My favorite part was the larger than king size bed with an exquisite & crazy cozy luxurious down comforter & sheets. I truly felt like I was sleeping in the clouds. Lots of extra plush & cotton knit blankets in all the closets. Large 4k flat screens in the living room with a fabulous soundbar, & large TV in the Master bedroom. At night it felt & sounded like a private movie theater. The gated backyard was extremely convenient for my dog. Even better, you can close the gate at the top of the driveway, & there was at least 1/2 a football field of the private driveway for my energetic dog to sprint & explore the natural landscape, with no worries. The kitchen has all high-end appliances, equipped with every possible type of gadget to cook extravagant meals to feast at a beautiful dining room table. Tons of room on the 1st & 2nd floors, ideal for children or teens to have their own private space. And lastly, when I needed assistance with all the options on the TV's, I called the main number, & within minutes the kindest, & incredibly patient gentleman walked me through all of the features. It is the perfect respite to detach & experience the glory of nature. I will definitely be returning with family & friends to utilize all of the space in this lovely home."

"Blue Ridge Barkway was a 10+ stay! It was perfect for what we were looking for in a rental. Secluded and off the beaten path. The location is amazing and very private with no neighbors on top of you. The view from the deck was fantastic--you are on top of a mountain! The living room was amazing, and the porch views were phenomenal. The balcony was top notch. Blue Ridge Barkway even had a basket full of blankets for your dogs to be laid out on the furniture. That was very impressive. If anyone were to ask me about Blue Ridge Barkway, I would tell them that this is the best place to stay. We look forward to potentially returning to Blue Ridge Barkway in October 2019! "

My family of four adults enjoyed our stay in this very lovely home. The home was very comfortable and clean. The views were awesome as well as the hummingbird activity. Having the dogs with us in a home along with a fenced area was wonderful. The homeowners were very receptive to our concerns.

"Ok. I admit I am a Googler and research everything. This house ranked at the top for the view, convenience, size, pet-friendly, and price. I am saying to you right now that if you are a dad or husband looking for a great family getaway, this is your location. My 22-year-old daughter said while unpacking the car ""Dad, you can hit a home run with this house"". Most of you reading this will know where my emotions were at this time. The ride up the mountain was already that impressive, not to mention the 2 Elk and wild turkey's we met along the way. Three floors of bedrooms, bathrooms and living space gave us spreading out feeling. The two dogs we brought ran and had space inside and the fenced yard was a big hit. Accessed directly from the kitchen door. All enclosed. The front porch was the view I was looking for all along. The kitchen had all the amenities and more. The decor was pretty and gave you the mountain feeling. Location of the house was great. Drive down the mountain and into Maggie Valley. We traveled Asheville, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and Cherokee. All convenient. My wife and I like ""pickling"" at antique stores. SoCo Falls was close to the house and was a nice outdoor adventure. "

"First time to visit the Maggie Valley area and fell in love with it. The weather was perfect and the house exceeded our expectations. Fenced in area for the dogs, dog bowls, and beds set out. And for people, everything you need to feel right at home is provided. Perfect house in the mountains to get away for peace and solitude, yet close enough to enjoy shops and restaurants and they Smokey Mountain National Park. "

The house was very remote but that is what we wanted. The views were spectacular. House very updated and very clean. The only thing we didn't like is that we had to leave. We could stay for weeks.
