First time bringing your dog with you to the Asheville area? This corner of the Appalachian mountains has an abundance of hiking trails, swimming areas, and dog parks to enjoy! Tourists and locals alike know Asheville, North Carolina as one of the most dog-friendly cities in the United States.

If you've ever traveled to the Smoky Mountains with your pup, you know that the Great Smoky Mountains National Park prohibits dogs on their trails. Luckily, Asheville is located in the dog-friendly Blue Ridge Mountains where most of our trails DO allow four-legged friends! Please be aware of leash requirements and trailhead signage for any hikes you head out on, and always bring waste bags and remove them from the trail when you go.

Some of our pet-friendly rentals restrict visitors to just one dog, but most allow a maximum of two dogs per stay. Some homes, however, will allow more than two dogs upon request.
