River Bank Retreat

This place is a gem! It was perfect for my family and we felt so comfortable and relaxed during our entire stay! It’s extremely clean and provides everything you could think of including a fantastic view of the river. Not too far from the grocery store etc, but very private. We will be looking to stay here again!

Beautiful home and very clean would stay there again and recommend it! The only complaint I would have to say I had was the neighbors' dogs barking constantly. Every time we came outside or attempted to go for a walk. besides that beautiful home and setting!

My wife and I got there on a Sunday night, and stayed for a full week. The place was perfect! Great location, with a fantastic deck that overlooks the small river in the back. It was so peaceful to sit on the deck and listen to the running water. There was easy access for swimming in the river, a wood burning firepit that we used a few times, and other comfortable amenities. There was also plenty of room for our adult kids who also came later in the week. It's a great location between Asheville and the very western part of NC; great boat rental on Fontana Lake was an hour away, and fun hikes were within 30-45 minutes. We loved it, and would highly recommend!!

River Bank Retreat is absolutely amazing!!! So lucky we were able to say stay here! We traveled with a family, including 2 young kids, and this house was perfect. Comfortable, kid-friendly and such good, relaxing vibes. My kids played Twister for the first time (it was in the game room) and my husband was able to play old school video games on their gaming system. Everything is clean. Beautiful views. We can’t wait to stay again!

We loved this location with the deck overlooking the river. So peaceful to relax out there to the sounds of the flowing water. More than enough to keep you occupied inside the house if the weather wasn’t cooperative. Great access to Waynesville, Canton, Asheville, and the Smoky Mountains.

This house was absolutely beautiful, and clean and had a stunning view. I honestly wanted to stay and just live here. It was so homey and peaceful! I’ll just bullet point the things that I think are most important: - the downstairs is HUGE. -the bedrooms are spacious and comfy. - the view is seriously STUNNING. - the hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner smell SO good. - soft towels, and plenty of them. - the kitchen is a dream, especially for two of the moms who were in it a lot. (Myself included) I could go on and on about how amazing it is. If we are ever randomly back in the area (we came for a wedding) we will 100% be staying here again. *it was perfect for two families, and my father-in-law - so much room*

Such a great spot! The backyard/porch is peaceful and relaxing! The home is spacious and fits us comfortably! Not too far from Asheville and easy to find! We had the absolute best time ever 100% would stay here again!

My family and I had an amazing time in this beautiful quaint river cabin and the interior reminded me of a Scandinavian home, airy, light, and clean but mostly peaceful and welcoming. We highly recommend everyone to go. We will be back!

The home was beautiful and relaxing. The porch faces the river and you can see and hear it from the rocking chairs, the hot tub, or sitting by the fire pit. We enjoyed the space tremendously, whether having fun family time in the basement or relaxing out back.

Sitting by the river was very relaxing early in the morning. The kitchen was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. Would come back for sure!

This house was perfect for our family vacation with our dog. The best part was that it came with amenities so you could cook in the kitchen or use the grill, actually utilize the place like a home versus having to go out for everything. We planned to do a lot of hiking during our trip, so our location was great for that. Overall it was a very stress-free experience.

I can not say enough about this house. It was super clean and beautifully decorated. They even decorated for Christmas which was a super plus. Everything was clean, with nice linens, and a bath towel, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. We went to downtown Canton for the Christmas lighting and visited Asheville while there. I rented the house because it was close to my family we visited, but it turned out to be a place I will frequent! Thank you so much for thinking of everything!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving week with another couple and a total of five kids and our dog. We had an amazing week, enjoying plenty of fresh air and room outside to roam around and play, as well as the pool table, games, and the big screen TV in the basement for movie nights. This house has thought of everything - the hot tub was a great way to relax after Was a long day. We were all so comfortable here, and we will definitely be back again!

Overall, our stay at this property was really pleasant. It was extremely clean and very well stocked with everything you will ever need for your stay. The pictures don't do it justice, it's a beautiful property! The only negative thing I have to say is, it didn't have an iron or ironing board, one of the beds was squeaky and one of the beds broke on our last night. Once those few things have been addressed I'd give it 5 stars across the board. We plan on coming back to this property annually.

We stayed in this beautifully renovated home with our adult children and 3 grandkids and had plenty of room to relax and unwind. The host provided thoughtful amenities, and the ramp in the garage made it easier for me to get in and out using a rolling walker. I could have sat on that porch all day long, enjoying the view. Close to Waynesville, Asheville, and even Hendersonville. Will definitely be visiting again.

The house and location of the retreat is so beautiful and convenient! It will accommodate a large group very comfortably. There’s lot of seating on the decks to enjoy the beauty of listening and watching the flowing of the Pigeon River. You can enjoy tubing and many other activities in the water. This is such a lovely place that I highly recommend staying. I didn’t want to leave!
