This house was perfect for us. We left all our stress and enjoyed a relaxing 9 days! Every morning we had our coffee in the gazebo and listened to the birds. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking and we even did a little stargazing from the hot tub. It was so magical! Beautiful sunsets from the blue Ridge Parkway not far down the road. Nearby restaurants were very good with a comfortable atmosphere. Overall we had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend! Cheryl and Philip

Overall great place. Everything worked as it should. You can't hear a car or neighbor in the distance; this place is pretty remote and private, which I prefer. There's plenty of things to do within a half of an hour to an hour drive. I visited the north country, Asheville, Bryson City, and, of course, Maggie Valley while I was there. The road up the mountain is mostly unpaved, but one of the locals graded the road at least 2-3 times within the 10 days I was there. I would recommend this place and stay here again.

Our family of 6 and small dog loved our stay at the Bear lodge. The views, the hot tub, provided start materials, etc made the stay extremely comfortable. The hosts were responsive and super kind. The home was clean and just like pictured. The grill was so nice to have. Loved visiting all the local shops off the mountain. Definitely agree with following the printed out directions and following them to a T - we made a wrong turn on the mountain coming up the first time but thankfully was able to turn around safely. Overall, we would 100% be back! We loved it.

Our family had an incredible stay at this cabin! We loved our views, especially the local Elk that would pass through, the peaceful location, and the amenities! Home was big enough for our family of 6 adults, 2 kids, and dogs! And was still so cozy! Will absolutely be back!

Cabin was beautiful inside, we loved the hard wood high ceilings and the stone fireplace. The view from the deck was perfect for sunsets and you could see forever. We got a nice coat of snow one night which was great for an early morning soak in the hot tub. Pack plenty of food because once you are there you won’t want to leave!

Absolutely beautiful house, very well appointed with stunning mountain views. Great hot tub and deck for relaxing, lovely living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Spacious bedrooms and a basement, and really secluded and quiet.

We stayed at this beautiful cabin for a week. It exceeded our expectations for sure! Very nice and very clean. This place is very well "stocked" and amenities were great. 2 couples on a motorcycle trip, I will say the road up the mountain was an experience on its own, we managed with truck and trailer as well as just motorcycles. I'd say its not for everyone but dont let it stand in your way of an unforgettable trip, with even more unforgettable views. Would highly recommend! The information provided prior to arriving is awesome. Will definitely visit again!

I can't say enough good things about this Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views. Whether it was sipping coffee in the morning or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening, the scenery was absolutely unforgettable. I had an amazing stay at this beautiful cabin in the Smoky Mountains. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains through a wall of glass — floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that truly bring the outdoors in. The cabin was clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully stocked with just about everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and made for some relaxing evenings with a view. A heads-up to future guests: the drive up to the cabin involves about 15 minutes on a steep, unpaved mountain road. I personally loved it — it added to the whole “living in the mountains” experience — but it’s something to consider if you're planning to go up and down often or drive at night, as the road is quite dark. There were a few lights in the cabin that didn’t work, just some random bulbs here and there, but it wasn’t a big issue for me. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend this cabin!!!

Amazing romantic getaway! The highlights of the stay: great view, clean space + the hot tub, grill, very CLEAN air and sometimes you wake up in the clouds ☁️ . They have WI-FI, so you won't be left out on top of the mountain without any connection to the human world lol. It was getting a little chilly in the evening, so the fireplace came in handy! Notes for the future guests: you will be staying on TOP of the mountain, its a safe community (and gated) , however, don't forget, you will be staying in the forest, so please make sure to lock the garbage, because the bears can come to you haha. Also, use a four wheeler vehicle for this trip, you will have to drive the serpentine road made out of small rocks (it goes pretty high😃) . Don't repeat our mistake and make sure you check the weather, because we were going back from the restaurant pretty late at night, it was raining, dark, and clouds were blocking the road view. We made it alive, but try to do day activities only:) AMAZING VACAY!

Beautiful clean home, and incredible view! Maggie Valley has alot to do especially for kids and families. We preferred the next town over to walk around for shops and restaurants, & to grocery shop at Publix in Waynesville (about 30 minutes away). We went on some local hikes and visited Cherokee which is also pretty close by. I would highly recommend this house - unless you plan on coming and going frequently (because the house is a few miles up the mountain). Overall great vacation! thank you! xo

Upon arrival the landscaping was over grown and unkept. We looked forward to the fire pit but it was completely covered with weeds and vines. The views from the deck were not the same as advertised due to the over growth of the trees. Once inside we found the downstairs bedroom had a strong foul musty odor and mold growing on the ceiling. We tried running the heat and A/C in that area but it made it worse. The inside of the cabin was clean and decorated professionally. We enjoyed our stay but would not stay at this particular cabin and would definitely confirm what we are getting in the future.

First, this property is not easy to reach. Its over 2 miles up the side of a mountain, often on narrow and steep passes. Well equipped vehicle and steady nerves are a must.One week before we arrived, we were advised the upstairs bathtub was out of order and would not be available during our stay. When we arrived, we observed that the bedroom under this bath has visible water damage. It appeared this damage was well aged, and was know of for a lot longer than a week before our stay. Also, didn't appear any attempt was made to fix it. The first night we arrived was very windy. All we heard all night was howling wind leaking in through poorly sealed glass and shifting glass panels. My kids compared it to the screaming you hear on a roller coaster. (yes, really that loud) The second day we were there, the power went out for about an hour, but the generator did not kick in (thrilled there was a generator here). I found the generator was turned off, and was actually functional once switched on. Luckily I have a Generac at home, so I knew what to look for. Would have been unlucky for someone unfamiliar sitting in the dark on a night where temps reached 17 degrees. BTW, there is no cell reception, so power is necessary for WiFi calling, otherwise you really are in the dark!Also, the hot tub was not functional for our stay!

The stay was not as we expected when we first checked in and went to our beds there was dog hair everywhere. Not satisfied at all and there was a dead insect in the basement on the dresser and I contacted the host and told them about it and the host simply said to “wipe it away” and that it’s “normal”, also the hot tub was not working I was informed that it would be fixed the next day after we checked in and it was not fixed the next day and especially when that was one of the features I paid for and was excited to use. The stay was not good really disappointed.
