Oh, the time has come to begin planning your ride on the Polar Express! We love the Polar Express Train for so many reasons, not the least of which is that it presents a rare opportunity to ride on a genuine steam engine. This year, from November 9th to December 31, 2018 the Polar Express will be traveling with gusto to the North Pole and trust us, your kiddos will love it!
The Polar Express Train is based off of both the popular book by Chris Van Allsburg and the beloved film starring Tom Hanks. The soundtrack to the movie plays in the background, and Santa's Helpers provide the carols, the hot chocolate, and the cookies! After about an hour and a half of traveling through the woods and over the river to the "North Pole", you'll experience an unparalleled joy while watching the kids' faces light up when they find Santa awaiting their arrival. When he boards, each child will get a special greeting, a gift, and a silver sleigh bell (just like in the story!). Most riders choose to wear their PJ's, and you should plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Smoky Mountain Trains Museum admission is included with the cost of your ticket.
