A Guide to Dining at Biltmore Estate

Where to Eat at Biltmore

The months of May and June are some of the very best for visiting the Biltmore Estate.  The snapdragons, poppies, and native azaleas are in bloom, leading the way for the roses and rhododendrons toward the end of June.  The cool breeze and hot sun, the lush warm grass and the excitement in the air - these and so much more make a visit to the Biltmore Estate an absolute must for locals and visitors alike!  And because no trip to the Biltmore is complete without a meal prepared by the Estate’s culinary wizards, the Carolina Mornings Team has put together this short list of some of our favorite Biltmore restaurants.

Dining Room

The Dining Room located in the Inn on Biltmore Estate offers its patrons a semi-formal dining experience with a focus on regional cuisine.  Most of the ingredients are sourced directly from the kitchen gardens and all of the meat is estate-raised. Guests will find that the menu is accessible and the experience quite elegant.

The Bistro, located in Antler Village, offers guests a delicious and adventurous menu that sources most ingredients from local farms.  Open for both lunch and dinner, the Bistro creates sumptuous meals from locally farmed trout and meat, local farmstead cheeses, and local honey. The Bistro won the Open Table Diner’s Choice award for 2015 and restaurant goers will find that it was very justly awarded!

Cedrics, also located in Antler Village, has a warm and inviting atmosphere that pays tribute to the neighborhood pubs of Ireland.  The menus feature global cuisine with rich flavors and the Estate’s own microbrews - Cedric’s Pale Ale and Cedric’s Brown Ale.  Guests will love the relaxed atmosphere, the view of the village green below, and the live summer music performances.

Stable Cafe

The Stable Cafe is located adjacent to the Biltmore House and is a popular option for those looking for a casual yet delicious meal after touring the sprawling former home of the Vanderbilt family.  Guests dine in the nooks of renovated horse stables in the 19th century stable building.  Open only for lunch, the menu offers patrons a wide range of delicious and carefully prepared comfort foods.

Deerpark Restaurant

Housed in a historic, estate original barn, the Deerpark Restaurant offers patrons sumptuous, made to order classics and specialties with a strong southern family-style influence.  Flavors are drawn from the Carolina Coast, the Low Country, Southern Appalachian, and Louisiana.  Whether you’re visiting from afar and looking to taste the glory of a southern meal, or a local looking for some well made, elegantly presented down-home cooking, Deerpark Restaurant has precisely what you’re looking for.
