Great house. Lots of amenities and full stocked kitchen. House and property get 5 stars. Great for big families. Bring TP and paper towels. Fairly convenient location to the town of Waynesville. Will be better once Canton Road is open back up near Shady Ridge Road. For now you have to go a ways around. Communication with the property manager was pretty good before hand. I had to call for access to the info site. No email was sent. Also with the road closures and GPS taking us the wrong way off Canton Rd, written local directions would have been super helpful. There was no response from the after hours text number provided

This was the perfect cabin for our family vacation. It slept 11 with room to spare. Location is convenient for downtown Waynesville, Asheville, Maggie Valley, and Cherokee. Pictures are very accurate. Kitchen was well stocked with essentially. Owners were very responsive when there was a small issue and fixed it quickly. Would definitely stay again.

The house has a cozy cabin feel, with vaulted ceilings and knotty pine throughout. plenty of room to accommodate a large group without feeling crowded. There are ants, but we kept the kitchen clean and they weren't a problem, other than the scouts wandering the countertop.

This cozy, open floor plan, rustic log cabin comfortably accommodated our group of 9 people. This is a generational home that has been enjoyed by many over the years. Carolina Mornings was very responsive to any of our questions. Plenty of linens and clean bedding. Quiet neighborhood, that allowed us to enjoy peaceful evenings on the wraparound porch. We appreciated that the property was welcoming of our large dog. Note that the bridge to access the state road a mile from the property is out, it is an easy 15-20 mins on country roads to Junaluska and Waynesville.

Amazing wrap-up to our road trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway! We were able to settle in quickly and comfortably and felt so at home during our 5-day stay. We have rented this property for our spring break. We were a total of 4 adults, 3 kids (ages 5,5, & 8) and a dog. The cabin is super spacious and a vibe! Everything was clean and it felt like a home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked with all basic condiments and plenty of pots and pans. It even had a blender and a mixer. The property is private and the instructions provided to arrive were right on point. We requested a propane gas refill for the fire pit during our stay and it was taken care of immediately. We will certainly be returning customers.

Great place and, a great community! I loved how much living space was in this house. The older kids were on the bottom level and never knew they were there. We truly enjoyed our stay at Shady Ridge Lodge. The cabin was well suited for our multi-generational long weekend trip with plenty of seating, plenty of bed options, and a well-stocked kitchen with a beautiful backdrop. The quick trips into town were no problem and we were able to find everything we needed at the local grocery stores. Loved the lower-level pool table and hot tub, all equipment was in good working order. After a few long hikes, many hours of fun were spent soaking in the hot tub and just hanging out as a family playing pool. We will definitely be back!

The place was nice and pretty quiet. The host was very responsive when I had questions. It was a bit far from the ski area, which didn’t seem the case by looking at the map. Also, there are no grocery shops around, so need to get food and drinks with you when going to this property. The stay was pretty pleasant.

We did not like there was not a tv in each of the bedrooms. The one bedroom tv didn’t have a working volume on remote. Inconvenient when you can’t sleep at 3am and your spouse can. You need to change the volume constantly. The biggest king bed room had no type of dresser for clothes. The game room is just a pool table with no seating. So bring extra chairs. Also, the game room has a serious water leak if it rains outside. Water pours in through the wall and concrete pad. We ran out of towels trying to keep it dry just so we could play pool! The biggest reason we booked the cabin was the pool table! One of the kids slipped and hurt her knee since she wasn’t expecting water to be there! There’s an active water leak in the roof dripping thru the ceiling onto the TV and my stuff. They know about it because they put blue tape on the ceiling around the hole. They charge a lot for cleaning and there were cobwebs everywhere. In the showers, every door, lamps. I’d add pics if it let me.

House was very clean. However, lots of spiders and cobwebs on the property. Upstairs rooms and loft were great but downstairs rooms need some love. Property is very private due to trees but there isn’t a view.

We enjoyed our time at Shady Ridge. The property was well kept and our other friends and family enjoyed it as well. We had a conference at Lake Junaluska all week so there was a bit of back and forth. Slightly further than I would h e liked but all in all a great place to relax in the mountains with friends.

We had a really fun time as a family. The hot tub and pool table area/game room were the highlights. The kitchen was big enough for a big family. Overall the stay was good!

The cabin was beautiful and accommodated my family of 12. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning broke (we visited in the middle of summer). Carolina Mornings after hour call center was extremely unhelpful and was not communicative. However, the next day Marissa helped us and was the best! She helped get 2 HVAC repair men out to the cabin to fix the issue and called multiple times with updates. Just an FYI, if there is a power outage, the breaker outside needs to be reset. Took about 2 minutes for the second HVAC tech to fix the issue. Thanks to Marissa’s help, I would book again as the area was breathtaking and the cabin was perfect!

The house was enjoyable and as advertised. Carolina Morning was not great to deal with. Our cars were iced in, we notified the host and they allowed us extra check out time. We decided to stay an extra night bc we didn't want to risk an icy driveway. The host said he could not extend 1 night as the computers only allow 2 night stays. He then told me to put our rear wheel drive cars in a low gear to make it down the ice or that I could also call a tow truck to tow us down the hill. All instead of figuring out how to extend by 1 night. He gave me Airbnb support number to see if they would extend the stay for one night but said it was not likely because it was past our check out time. Called support and they were great, they contacted the host. The host claimed they weren't contacted by Airbnb and pressured us about resolving the situation. Airbnb assured us they were attempting to contact them. Airbnb told us the host had the ability to extend the stay 1 night the entire time.
