Staying Through the Storm
My family met my husband and I at the Deerfield and Cub’s Den for a week of relaxation and meals and just hanging out. We enjoyed it so much. Despite the terrible storm that passed thru Asheville and all the devastation we were safe and dry. The cabins were equipped with flashlights and we had gas stoves so we could eat for a couple days just using a lighter to start the cooktop. Each cabin was so well appointed and throughly cared for and very clean. We had no complaints. I brought many things from home to use but when I arrived the cabin had everything we needed. We played games after dinner each night and one evening used the fire pit, what a wonderful experience we enjoyed. The only drawback was the driveway to the Cub’s Den, it is a bit tricky to navigate. You must put your vehicle in low gear (can’t stress that enough) and not be timid about picking up speed to make it to the top. But once there it was worth the efforts. This cabin has the best views. Our favorite aspect of the cabins was without a doubt the grand porches equipped with 4 rocking chairs and a large picnic table. Amazing! It was so quiet, we could hear things in the surroundings I’ve never had opportunity to hear before. My husband even had a small dear approach him without reservation and stand near him for a few minutes checking him out when in the driveway. (I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it myself) We visited Mt Mitchell and Grandfather mountain and explored Asheville a bit while men flyfished nearby streams. They want to return and do it again. For owners: we apologize for not complying with direction for departure. There was no water nor electric so we felt badly about leaving dishes. Please accept our regrets and feel free to reach out to us if necessary. And you were so kind to offer a tour of the property, you have a wonderful estate.

Private, Clean and Cozy
Nothing short of amazing. Super private, extremely clean, and well equipped for a low key family vacation. I would like to buy it if it was for sale! Love it. Definitely coming back!

Sunny Winter Cabin
Arrived on a sunny Sunday winter afternoon to two beautiful picturesque cabins overlooking a tranquil meadow that was filled with deer every morning and evening. This is our second time to these cabins and this time we stayed at the Deer Field Cabin. The cabin was new and very clean with all items needed for a cabin get-a-way. The rooms are all large and plenty of room for a family. My mornings consisted of waking up to a view of deer in the back yard grazing on the grass, followed by making a cup of hot chocolate and sitting in front of the gas fireplace. We purchased a weeks worth of food since we enjoy cooking at home. There is the town of Burnsville just a few minutes down the road with all services that you would need as well as many excellent restaurants and even a craft beer brewery (Homeplace Brewery). We also explored the area and are close to many activities such as hiking, , tubing, rafting (in the summer) and skiing. We stayed a week and hated leaving the very relaxing setting. The cabin was meticulously decorated with little features, such as an old restored ax, being used as a towel holder. The communication from the management company was very clear and easy to follow instructions. We love these cabins and will continue to visit our new second home a few times a year.

Beautiful Cabin
Deer Field cabin was absolutely beautiful. It’s brand new and in a private setting with a locked gate. My husband and I stayed there for several nights for our anniversary. There is plenty of room to spread out and the beds are comfortable. One bedroom has room darkening curtains which was very nice. The kitchen is well stocked. You may want to bring water to drink as the water is quite yellow, but that is expected in the mountains. I was told there were tvs in the bedrooms, but there was not, which was absolutely fine (hubby likes the tv in the bedroom). We saw deer on the property. We also watered the flowers in the pot as it was a toasty week. Would definitely stay there again. The entrance to home is on a pretty steep curve. We didn’t follow the property manager's instructions and followed our GPS to the home. Trust me, follow their instructions and the drive to the cabin is much less curvy. If you’re out and about on 19, watch for cops. We came from Michigan and didn’t see any cops there or back, but saw about 30 on 19. We went to Asheville which was about 30 minutes, Biltmore, Mt. Mitchell, and Grandfather Mountain. We are at the Corner Kitchen in the Biltmore Village and Pigs and Grits in Burnsville. We would definitely stay again!

Escaping a Florida Hurricane
We very much appreciated the hospitality and the property manager working with us to get us in early due to our challenges with the hurricane in Florida. Water pressure was an issue for a few days but once brought to your attention, it was fixed quickly. Much appreciated. WiFi was not great but worked most of the time. I would recommend adding TVs in the bedrooms. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Loved this place and the peaceful atmosphere. Thank you, Terry
