Chestnut House is a great place to begin your Smoky Mountain adventures. Enjoy tubing and fishing in the riverside community of Bethel, near Canton, North Carolina. Chestnut House is located in a secluded cabin community near the trout-stocked West Fork Pigeon River (a fishing permit is required). Take a scenic drive winding your way upstream along Highway 215, past Lake Logan and into the Pisgah National Forest where you'll discover waterfalls, the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and an access point to the Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Marker 423. Outdoor activities in the area include whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, and hiking trails such as the Rose Walk around Lake Junaluska and the Cataloochee Divide Trail. In season, you'll find herds of elk in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (45 min). Nearby Interstate 40 takes you into Asheville, where you can catch a show at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort (40 min) and check out popular attractions such as the Biltmore Estate and River Arts District. Groceries and many dining options are nine miles down the road in downtown Waynesville. In addition to local attractions, the Cherokee Casino is less than an hour from the property, and the Cataloochee Ski Area is 45 minutes away. This Asheville vacation rental is located in Canton and is approximately 40 minutes from downtown Asheville.

Chestnut House is located in a quiet mountain neighborhood. This home is under a noise ordinance between 9:00 p.m. and 8 a.m. and has a very low noise tolerance. Please be mindful that noise travels far in the mountains.
• Firewood is not provided for guest use. If you plan on using the wood-burning amenities, please purchase wood locally upon arrival.
• Travel Insurance Highly Recommended
During the winter months, we highly recommend you consider CSA Travel Insurance to protect your vacation investment from potential winter weather events that could prevent access to the home. No refunds shall be provided if you cannot access the home due to winter weather.

Property Cancellation Policy
Please note that this property’s Non-Refundable Period is 30 days prior to arrival. If your reservation is made within this period, it will be non-refundable from the time of booking. Cancellations are permitted outside of this period, per our vacation rental agreement. We encourage you to consider travel insurance to help protect your vacation investment against the unknown!
