Concierge Spotlight: Sandy Bottom Trail Rides
The winter season, brief as it was, is quickly coming to an end and the many and varied outdoor activities in WNC are calling. Some of us at Carolina Mornings are attracted to those adrenaline-releasing sports that the Blue Ridge Mountains do so well, while others prefer a more relaxing and peaceful kind of fun. Luckily, WNC does that well too! So for those travelers out there who prefer to take it slow, we've put a spotlight on Sandy Bottom Trail Rides. Below are some frequently asked questions answered by the Carolina Mornings Team.
Sand Bottom Trail Rides is located on a secluded ranch just minutes from Asheville. The trails weave through the stunning mountains of Madison County – riders can expect to see the high country, mountain meadows and shady, wooded areas.
How Long Are the Rides?
Sandy Bottom Trail Rides offers a wide range of rides – from one hour to all day. For those who want a brief taste of riding but don’t want to sacrifice gorgeous views, the 1 or 2 hour rides are perfect. The 3 hour ride, Sandy Bottom’s most popular, rides over the hilltops before arriving at the Little Pine Gem Mine for a brief stop and stretch. After exploring the mines a bit, the ride continues up for some gorgeous views of Big Ball Mountain. Finally, the all-day rides are one of the best ways to get a comprehensive feel of the mountains of Western North Carolina. There’s a wide variety of trails from which to choose, so all levels of riding ability are welcome. In any event, no matter the ride, expect a gorgeous trail and a gentle horse.
How Do I Set It Up?
