Celebrating Father’s Day in Asheville, NC

Father’s Day in Asheville, NC

Father’s Day is fast approaching and the Carolina Mornings Team is gearing up for an awesome weekend celebrating our dear old dads! Whether you’re looking for a traditional day on the golf course or a fun filled day at Biltmore Estate, Asheville has precisely what you seek. We’ve outlined just a few of the events taking place that weekend that we’re excited to share with all of the fathers in our lives!

Biltmore Estate

The Biltmore Estate is offering free admission for all fathers on Father’s Day with the purchase of a youth or adult ticket!  Tour the 6 acre home and the expansive gardens before heading over to Antler Village for lunch at Cedric’s Tavern. For an introduction to several of the restaurants on Biltmore Estate, check out our guide to dining at the Biltmore.

Asheville GreenWorks Presents:  Father’s Day Garden Tour

An annual tradition for many in the area, the Father’s Day Garden Tour is an event hosted by Asheville GreenWorks that seeks to celebrate all things Dad. The tour will be held at Biltmore Forest this year and it is a delightful way for families to spend some time together touring local home gardens. The properties that will be showcased are nothing short of spectacular, so if your dad loves his garden, he won’t want to miss this event.

Lex 18 Presents: Father’s Day Whiskey Dinner

Lex 18, Asheville’s premier Moonshine Bar and Music Venue, will be hosting a Whiskey Dinner in honor of fathers everywhere! Every dad will receive a stainless steel hip flask for - you guessed it - his favorite whiskey. Those that are feeling particularly celebratory may wish to go full out in prohibition era attire - the restaurant will have a 1930’s photo shoot setup for those wanting to document the momentous occasion!

Tee Up!

Ah, the classic Father’s Day event - golf. The Asheville area is home to several awesome courses - each one boasting its own special history. Check out the Carolina Morning’s Golfing Guide for a breakdown of all of the local courses and what makes them amazing.

Father’s Day Brunch

We’re not sure about all dads, but our dads love to eat delicious food. Asheville is a foodie mecca and our brunch spots blow all the other brunch spots in all the other cities out of the water! There will be dozens of restaurants in the area hosting Father’s Day brunch specials, so your destination will depend more upon your dad’s palate than anything else. We recommend stopping by the Buffalo Nickel for their Father’s Day Brunch event - from 11am to 2pm, Dads can either watch as the Chef prepares signature dishes or relax upstairs with the billiards tables, all day Sunday sports (on any one of the 10 TV’s in the establishment), and delicious beverages.
