Celebrate Spring in Asheville, NC

The days are getting warmer now that spring has finally sprung. Spring brings sunshine, festivals, and so much more. There are many varied ways to celebrate the coming of spring, here are some of the fun local events that we are looking forward to enjoying. Asheville is the perfect place to ring in spring (or just about anything!).

Springtime Blooming

The Biltmore Estate celebrates spring with Biltmore Blooms from March 20th to May 23rd. The gardens are bursting in the colors of full bloom. Spend some time enjoying the beautiful flowers and live music daily between 11am-3pm at the Conservatory or grow your green thumb during the Gardener's Place Seminars that are held daily in the Walled Garden at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. A winter garden orchid display happens from March 20-April 6.

All Aboard
Adults and kids alike can jump aboard when The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad in Bryson City welcomes The Peanuts Gang on The Easter Beagle Express on April 18 and 19th. Passengers travel with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the Peanuts Gang to Dillboro, a quaint town in the Smoky Mountains that is right out of another era. Additionally, travelers are invited to join in on an Easter egg hunt, crafts and snacks.

Earth Day Asheville Style

There is no better place on earth to celebrate this great earth than Asheville! Celebrate Earth Day over a whole week. Earth Week includes various different scheduled events which culminate on April 19th. Taking place on Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville, this huge all-day  festival focuses on ways we all can make a positive difference. There will be educational booths, vendors, music, food, and, of course, fun!

Celebrate earth day in a big way and be close to the action at
Studio Lex. This amazing loft has a bright open floor plan, garden tub, fireplace, and is located above Lexington Avenue Brewery and steps away from the festival, as well as boutiques and award-winning restaurants. 

Arts in Asheville

UNC Asheville hosts it's first ever Arts Fest on April 10th - April 13th. Encompassing many art forms, this festival  includes local music, juried art exhibitions, dance performances, writing workshops, plays, lectures, poetry readings, and films. This is a spectacular way to learn about new artists in the community and be a part of what will surely be a wonderful annual Asheville event.

Another not-to-be-missed art event is the
Weaverville Art  Safari.  On April 26th and April 27th, local artists open their studios granting visitors direct access to where they work. Check out their amazing work and, maybe, take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir.

In Weaverville, Rivertime is a beautiful cabin in the woods that welcomes you to away from it all while still being close to everything - Rivertime  is located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville.
