'Tis the season in Asheville, NC: Part I
The holiday season has arrived in the mountains and we couldn't be more excited to dig in and enjoy it! Dozens of seasonally themed activities await you in Western North Carolina, and we've highlighted a few that we're particularly excited about! Read on for more information about these fantastic upcoming events:
Winter Lights at the Arboretum
From November 18th through January 1st, the North Carolina Arboretum will put on a stunning display of holiday lights in the expansive gardens. Over 500,000 lights are used to transform the grounds into a majestic and spectacular display of seasonal beauty. Expect to experience impressive light shows, a working G-Scale model train, a projection show called "Plantasia", an animatronic program called "Storytime at Woodland Cove", and so much more! Oh, and did we mention that the entire show is guided by green principles? The energy-efficient LED lights use 80% less energy than conventionally lights, making this an event that you can proudly stand behind!
'Tis the Season Holiday Fair
The North Carolina Holiday Fair has returned to the WNC Agriculture Center to help prepare you for the holiday season! The fair will take place over the entire weeked of November 18th and it is considered to be an excellent one-stop shop for holiday gifts and decorations. Local artists and craftspeople work year round to create and build the art that you can find here in the stalls of the WNC Ag Center. Handmade beauty products, clothes, hats, jewelry, and home adornments are aplenty. Paintings, woodwork, ceramics, and sculpture abound. So if you're still looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones, don't miss this event! The fair runs on Friday, November 18th and on Saturday, November 19th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Sunday, November 20th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
