Carolina Mornings Spotlight: Top 3 Romantic Restaurants for Valentine's Day

Celebrating Valentine's Day in Style
We love love! It's our favorite. The romance, the sweet gestures, the butterflies in the stomach - it's right up our alley. Naturally, then, Valentine's Day is one of our absolute favorite holidays. This year, to celebrate the holiday, we'll do a series of posts about how to best spend Valentine's Day weekend here in the mountains. Read on for our first installment all about the restaurants!

Zambra
Zambra is a Tapas restaurant tucked into a sleepy side street off of Lexington Avenue. The mood is subdued and romantic, the lighting is muted, the food is out of this world, and the bartender makes some of the best cocktails we've ever had. Having had quite a few date nights at Zambra, we've learned a few pro tips - first off, always make a reservation!  They're not always necessary, but they do always help get you seated quickly. Secondly, be prepared to feel momentarily overwhelmed at your options. Everything on the menu will look delicious, so try to distill it down to 4 dishes to share. Finally, wear your dancing shoes and have a "Part II" for the evening prepared. You're going to be in the heart of downtown - take advantage of it!

Nightbell
Nightbell is one of the most romantic yet comfortable spots that we know of. The food is delectable, the ambiance is muted and romantic, and the staff is super attentive. If you want to "wow" your date, Nightbell is the place to go. The menu rotates frequently and many of the ingredients are locally sourced, so every meal at this superb restaurant will feel like the first and best time. As with Zambra, we recommend having something planned for after your romantic meal - Downtown Asheville is a vibrant place in which to find yourself... enjoy it!

The Bull and Beggar
The Bull and Beggar is a fantastic spot located in the heart of the River Arts District that boasts a phenomenal menu of European inspired Appalachian cuisine. All the ingredients that go into their mouthwatering dishes are locally and regionally sourced, the atmosphere is upscale and chic, and the service is friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend setting a reservation in advance as this is a well loved romantic spot.

Stay Local
Staying local will bring your Valentine's Day getaway to the next level. Carolina Mornings has dozens of truly amazing vacation rentals in and around the Asheville area - whether you're looking for a secluded and romantic cabin in the mountains or a condo close to all that the community of Asheville has to offer, Carolina Mornings has you covered.
