'Tis the Season in Asheville, NC: Part II
Earlier this week, we wrote about some of our most anticipated holiday events. Because there is just so much to be excited about, we thought we would finish the week with a spotlight on a few more upcoming events! Read on for more information on how to spend your holiday season in the mountains.
The Asheville Holiday Parade
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 19th, because the Asheville Holiday Parade returns to our small mountain city for the 70th year in a row! The event begins at 11:00 AM on South Charlotte Street and meanders up Biltmore Avenue toward Pack Square (where the performances will commence!). The parade will then turn onto Patton Avenue and end on French Broad Street. The theme for this year's event is "Light Up the Holidays", and attendees can expect to see talented marching bands, impressive floats, enthusiastic school groups, and more! After the event, families should head on over to The Grove Arcade for photos with Santa.
Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland Lights
Every year since 2007, the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center puts on the Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland light show. This year, the event begins on November 23rd and runs through December 28th and we couldn't be more excited to attend! The show spans a 2 mile stretch and hundreds of thousands of LED lights perform in delightful synchronization with the Christmas tunes playing through your car radio. Best of all, just like the NC Arboretum's winter lights show, all lights in this amazing show are environmentally friendly LED lights! Be sure to plan on swinging through Santa's Village after meandering through the maze of lights to have a photo taken with Santa!
Staying nearby is key to fully enjoying the seasonal activities in the mountains! Luckily, Carolina Mornings has dozens of amazing vacation rentals in and around the Asheville area - each one unique!
