A Day on the Estate: Part II
Earlier this week, we put a spotlight on some of our favorite ways to spend a summer day on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate. We decided to close out the week with just a few more suggestions! Read on for more ideas on how to spend a summer afternoon on the Estate.
Float the River
Many visitors don't realize that the French Broad River runs right through the heart of the Estate. Lush green canopies droop over the slow moving river in the summer months, making it the perfect environment for a leisurely float trip. A knowledgeable and professional guide will paddle the raft as you and your friends and loved ones relax and soak in the joy of a summer afternoon.
Looking more for a self guided day on the river? Consider renting a single or double kayak to take out on the waters. Go at your own pace and enjoy the ride!
Paddle Boarding Away
Stand-up Paddle Boards are quickly becoming a very popular vessel for enjoying the waters of Western North Carolina...and for good reason! They are supremely fun, provide a whole new perspective of the river, and give a good workout all at the same time! The Estate offers guided paddle board trips down a gentle three mile stretch of the river. Along the way, you'll enjoy local flora and fauna sightings, a healthy work out, and some helpful pointers from your professional guide.
Anglers travel to Western North Carolina from all over the country to fish our mountain streams, and the Biltmore Estate is just one of our many great locations for testing and honing your skills. Never been flyfishing but want to learn how? The Biltmore Estate is an Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing School! Knowledgeable, professional instructors will provide expert guidance and schooling.
