April is NC Beer Month!
This year, April is North Carolina Beer Month and we are so excited to celebrate the delicious brews and bevvies created in this gorgeous state. Dozens of breweries all across the state are participating in beer-inspired events, tastings, dinners, giveaways, and block parties. Asheville is proud to hold the title of "Beer City, USA", so we happen to believe that the best of all the parties will be right here in our beautiful mountain city.
Read on for some suggestions on where to celebrate!
Take A Tour
BREW-ed is one of our most popular beer-focused tours. A certified Cicerone guides you on an expedition around the city with a strong focus on the most popular of the Downtown Asheville breweries. It connects Asheville Brewing, Burial Beer, Hi-Wire, Green Man, Thirsty Monk Pup and Brewery, and Wicked Weed. Historical tid-bits are served up along the way, making this tour a rich experience in Asheville culture.
Visit the South Slope
For some, a self-guided tour is the better, more sensible option. If you have a clear idea about what kinds of brews appeal to your palate, you may find yourself wishing to spend more time at a brewery that specialized in that method. The South Slope in Downtown Asheville has become the city's unofficial beer district and it boasts 6 breweries - each with it's own very distinct personality. We recommend stopping by Wicked Weed's Funkatorium for a Freak of Nature IPA before going on to explore the rest!
Bring It On Home
Most of the breweries in Asheville sell growlers and six-packs of their most popular brews for those that want to enjoy responsibly at home. We also have an absolutely amazing, world-class boutique beer distributor filled to the brim with local and national brews. Traveling to the area but still want to experience the glory of relaxing on a porch, sipping a delicious brew, and watching the sun set over the Blue Ridge Mountains? Carolina Mornings has dozens of homes in and around Asheville, each one as unique as the next. Sunset Haven, a Certified Eco-Friendly home with long range mountain views and an outdoor dining area with a charcoal grill, is the perfect place to enjoy a springtime BBQ with loved ones. Best of all, it's conveniently situated just 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville!
