Me and my family had such an amazing time here. Me and my brothers had such a fun time exploring up and down the yard and finding rocks. We had a fire almost every night and slept in the loft (it was amazing). Last night we ate at a place you definitely need to try - Blue Mountain Pizza in Weaverville. Anyway, we loved our stay at El Oso and will definitely be coming back. It made spring break so much better. Thanks so much!

The cabin was quaint yet spacious, rustic yet warm. The owners' attention in taking care of seemingly small yet important details was overwhelmingly evident. Extra towel racks to bedroom hooks to the vacuum cleaner, binoculars, umbrella, dog-walking flashlight and books everywhere! EVERYTHING was great. The kitchen was unexpectedly well equipped. We felt like guests in someone's home rather than simply renters in a hotel room. Your Carolina Mornings experience was thorough and convenient start to finish. Directions were spot-on. A wonderful getaway in a wondrous location. You've thought of everything. Thank you for letting us bring Piper, our family pet Lab. She had a ball. We were trying to figure out how we could get snowed-in just so we could stay longer. October was probably not the right month.....PS:I think someone may have cued the five deer to feed up and down the mountain just off the right edge of the porch all weekend. Nice touch!

Perfect trip! Thank you!

Our 2nd trip to El Oso was wonderful. We love the cabin and community. Our boys loved fishing in the community pond. We visited downtown Asheville and had lunch at Carmel’s Kitchen at the Grove Arcade. It was fantastic. We took in a baseball game at McCormick Field - the Asheville Tourists vs. Greenville Drive. It was the most exciting baseball game we’ve ever been to. We won in an extra inning! The Wolf Laurel Stables and horseback riding are a must do. Dave and his crew and the horses are great! Thank you for this beautiful cabin.
Danielle, Titusville, FL 7/11/2015
This was our first time staying and a last minute trip, so we took the option of cabins we thought best suited us with our dog. El Oso was very secluded like we wanted; extremely well appointed; and very clean. Wolf Laurel was great and the hiking trail was very nice. Carolina Mornings staff was outstanding and helpful!

I’ve enjoyed our first trip to the Carolina mountains made especially nice due to our stay here in El Oso! Our dog, Zebulon, struggled to navigate the entry stairs on the first few attempts, but finally got the hang of it. And the best part of our stay here was that we’ve only minutes away from the location of the wedding ceremony for our niece on 6/20/15 - the purpose of our trip. We plan on visiting Mars Hill University and the Weizenblatt Gallery to view the work of another contemporary artist - Ian Cage. We hope your stay here was as peaceful and as quiet as our. Zebulon enjoyed the especially exotic (non-Florida) aromas!
LouAnn, Jupiter, FL 6/22/2015
We loved El Oso and our first trip to the Asheville area. Whitewater rafting, the Biltmore, and Chimney Rock were a few of the things that kept us busy. Breakfast “all day” at Early Girl in Asheville is highly recommended - The Early Girl Benny was delicious!
The Cabin was perfect and we loved the community too. Take time to find the nature trail that links to the Appalachian Trail - very nice.
Our dog Buddy enjoyed his stay. Thanks for letting us bring him along.

John Denver was wrong in his song West Virginia song cuz nothing could be finer than to be in Asheville, North Carolina to Wolf Laurel in the snow I don’t think I wanna go. In summer, the scenery is so great - In the winter, the roads I couldn’t navigate. Just getting up our driveway gave us thrills during our stay. Carolina Mornings is a perfect name for our host - that time of day I enjoyed the most. “Live long and prosper” was Spock’s farewell - it is my way of wishing you well!

This is our first trip to North Carolina. El Oso provided us with the perfect escape from East Central Indiana. Whether it was hiking the nearby trails, making the short trip to Asheville, or simply relaxing and enjoying the family time, this was a memorable family vacation. El Oso provided everything we could need. Thank you for sharing!
Juli, Yorktown, IN 3/26/2015
We came from Florida to enjoy a peaceful/cold vacation! And El Oso cabin delivered! While we were here, we took a trolley ride, explored downtown Asheville, went hiking, and ate at wonderful restaurants. This cabin provided a wonderful place for our family to stay. We played darts and had a ping pong tournament, and watched TV. I’m the El Oso dart champion!
Danielle, Titusville, FL 3/23/2015
This is our second time staying at this cabin. It never disappoints. The view is stunning. We always have a relaxing and rejuvenating time. We especially love the dartboard and ping pong table. Thank you for sharing this special cabin with us!

What a great Thanksgiving! I think we have a new tradition! Enjoyed El Oso. We made great use of the fireplace! We were lucky enough to get a dusting of snow while we were here. Enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the Grove Park Inn, visited the Biltmore, visited our favorite pottery makers...Magnum Pottery in Weaverville. This is such a serene place, makes us want a place of our own.
Kathy, Charleston, SC 11/30/2014
Thank you for a wonderful, cozy, and relaxing time! My kids (15 and 10 years old) love El Oso! They tried out most of the games; their favorites were: Rush Hour, Foosball, N64, and Bandu. Your cabin and Asheville areas are awesome.

Robison, Live Oak, FL 7/19/2014
Thank you for a wonderful stay in nature. We enjoyed the peace and serenity of Wolf Laurel. You have thought over everything for the kitchen needs. (and we travel a lot) Lots to do with our family - hiking on the AT, rafting with Blue Heron on the French Broad, and hiking on the lower and upper Cumberland Falls - great hike!
Thomas, Raleigh, NC 5/26/2014
Beautiful cabin and place! Very cozy, peaceful and fun. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed every moment. We stayed for a week and was perfect because we were able to enjoy the cabin and the wonderful city of Asheville. We spent the New Year at the cabin and was the best experience, because the peace, tranquility, and all the energy around us provided by nature gave us a great start for a wonderful 2014. Thank you and happy 2014
Mike, Pembroke Pines, FL 1/2/2014
Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. Although, there were a few things we would've done different, we couldn't have had a better place to stay as newlyweds celebrating our first Christmas.
Michael, Clarksville , TN 12/26/2013
We really had a great visit and look forward to returning to the Asheville area. We used the complimentary pass to the Biltmore Estate, which is a great value!
Robert, Ocean Ridge, FL 11/13/2013
Mountain air, peace, serenity...El Oso delivered! Ideal spot being close to zip lines and French Broad river. The view was nice and good access to the Appalachian Trail. Thanks for a comfy place.
Craig, Sarasota, FL 8/11/2013
We loved it here! The kids had a great time finding sticks, acorns, wildflowers and mushrooms. We hiked, fished, swam to our hearts’ content. The cool mountain air was very refreshing and everyone went to bed tired. Sitting out on the porch, talking, and enjoying the sounds of nature was a balm to our souls. God provided just what we needed in your house. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us.
Tracie, Harrison, OH 8/3/2013

Dear Oso, It’s our one year anniversary and my boyfriend surprised me in staying here. this trip has meant so much to me. It is beautiful here and hope we stay here again and again. Thank you for the comfy place with all the amenities. We are building a fire now with the dog I hope to keep this place and time in my memory. We went white water rafting for the first time and to Table for dinner. NC is gorgeous. We live in ATL, I hope this wont be the last time I write in this book. Thank you

We had a wonderful stay! Enjoyed grilling on the deck, fires in the fireplace, listening to a thunderstorm from the loft...great week! Thanks for a wonderful cabin stocked with just about everything we needed
Nicholas, Fayetteville, NC 4/16/2013
What a wonderful cabin! we have had a girls weekend with my mom, my daughter (14 yrs old), and several of my daughter’s friends. We have enjoyed a giant sleepover in honor of my daughter's birthday. This is a beautiful place! It is clean, cozy and well-stocked. We will definitely be coming back.
Kelley, Old Fort, NC 3/18/2013
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your cabin. It is obvious that you put a lot of effort and care into making it an oasis for vacationing families. From the selection of books to DVDs to games to the beautiful mountain views, everything was perfect! We only wished that we had planned less during our short trip here so that we could have enjoyed all that the cabin had to offer. We will definitely recommend it to our family and friends!
Randi, Olivete, MI 3/16/2013
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin during the weekend. The view is beautiful and we were lucky to have experienced the first week’s snowfall. Thank you and we hope to be here again soon!
Proma, Atlanta, GA 3/10/2013
This was my first trip with my fiance and it was amazing to say the least. It was his first time to the mountains and he loved it. We didn't stay long but did so much in our short time. It was so special to have this cabin to come back to after a long day of adventures. We cooked, sat by the fire, and enjoyed the porch! We just love everything about this place. Thank you for making it feel like home!
Travelers, Miami, FL 2/8/2012
Quiet, relaxing, a little hiking... The whole family played games together, watched movies, and we did a lot of reading and baking! Chimney Rock Park and the falls were amazing. The white water rafting was the most fun, and the enclosed pool at the resort with the slide was the kid's favorite. It will be hard to leave. Thanks!
Travelers, Palm Harbor, FL 7/12/2011
