The Black Bear Cabin is very private with beautiful surroundings.
The Black Bear Cabin is very private with beautiful surroundings. The drive to Asheville wasn’t too long either. Although it rained it was a beautiful Christmas morning.

I gave this place 5 stars because it was perfect.
I gave this place 5 stars because it was perfect. We can bring our dogs. For a pet-friendly accommodation, it was super clean We wanted to stay in the mountains, close to Black Mountain, and be near a creek. All of those things are in this place. Our absolute favorite part is all of the trails to the stream. I could have stayed forever! Downtown Black Mountain and a grocery store are only about 15 minutes away on a beautiful mountain drive. If you want a super clean house in a great location, definitely book this place. You absolutely can not beat the location and the beauty of the creek and the mountains. I would definitely rent it again.

My family and I enjoyed our stay in the cabin.
My family and I enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. Just in the yard for the dogs was great! The area was beautiful. We loved playing in the nearby creek. Lots of pretty hikes in this area too. Highly recommend goat yoga with Ramona. Way to come again. My only critique is that the hot tub was very small.

Wonderful pristine location that feels remote.
Wonderful location that feels remote, but is only 10 minutes from Black Mountain and about 30 from Asheville. The hot tub was so nice after a long day of hiking. The space was very clean, and the kitchen had a decent collection of utensils and some basic spices.

Perfect vacation for a clean property.
The house was very clean! We don't own animals and were hesitant about so many other guests who brought dogs but there was no evidence (nor smell) of animals in the cabin. We used the third-floor bedroom - the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had great water pressure! The hot tub was perfect too! Lovely stay! Thanks so much!

Quiet and peaceful location.
Enjoyed my time! Quiet and peaceful location. It no longer has a charcoal grill as seen in pics, but there is a gas grill on the deck.

Nice for privacy.
It's off the beaten path a bit which is nice for privacy. There aren't any close or loud neighbors nearby which is nice because it is peaceful. There is a small creek nearby you can hear and it adds to the ambiance

Fenced-In Yard
The property was tucked away in the woods off highway 9. There is a lovely road and grassy areas, as well as trail, near the property that we used for walking with our 2 year old. The fenced in yard and gated porch was perfect for our dog so she could not go far. You can see the creek from the porch and the sounds were very peaceful to hear while hanging outside. We cooked the majority of our meals at the cabin and found the kitchen to be well stocked with pans, knives etc.

Plenty of Room for Dogs to Run
Great value for the property. A private property with room for a dog to run and play. Nice creek to walk to. (Very short walk) If you need to do any work on the internet what so ever you will not be able to do it here. However, it’s nice if you want to really unplug and enjoy the wilderness.

Beautiful Stay by the Creek

The waterfall and stream were beautiful!
We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this sweet cabin. It was clean and updated and very peaceful and secluded, just what we were looking for! The waterfall and stream across the street was beautiful and fun to explore. We could even hear the water from the cabin's back porch.

Quiet and Private
It was nice & quiet, with a lot of privacy. The hot tub was great. There was plenty of room for us to spread out. How private & remote it felt, but still very close to everything we wanted to do in the area.

Clean and Lovely
This is a beautiful cabin about 15 minutes away from downtown Black Mountain. The kitchen is well equipped, and we appreciated the fenced in yard and extra dog bowls. We enjoyed meals on the porch and the hot tub was clean and lovely. The kids liked the walk to the waterfall, and they especially liked to see how it flowed after a rainstorm. Everything was exactly as described, and we really appreciated it! *Definitely take screenshots or print out directions and check-in instructions. My phone lost service about five minutes from the cabin (AT&T), but my husband had decent service (Verizon) the whole time. The wi-fi works and is easy to connect but is slow - definitely not for streaming or work. We loved the disconnection, but you should definitely be aware before booking.

Dog Loved the Fenced-in Yard
If you are looking for a dog friendly, perfectly located and private mountain getaway look no further. We couldn’t be more pleased with the cabin itself, the amenities and a great two person hot tub. Close to the creek and the dogs LOVED the fenced in yard!

Such a Great Spot!
Such a great spot! It was so pretty looking out at the stream and fields from the porch. Hot tub was a perfect way to relax each night (keep in mind it is a 2 person hot tub). Location was pretty convenient, with downtown Black Mountain about 15 minutes and Asheville 30 minutes!

Dog-Friendly Rental
Great serene location, no interference from neighbors. Fenced dog area was great, provided good exercise and safe space for pets. Walking trails located right along property were great, stream and waterfalls added to the experience.

Clean Cabin!
We loved our stay at Black Bear cabin. The cabin was clean and had modern furnishings. We will be going back again. We loved everything at the cabin. The location was incredible, our dogs lived their best lives running and playing in the nearby creek. We will be booking this cabin again. Thanks for a great vacation!

"The location was ideal for us as we were able to visit the biltmore, Asheville, black mountain town, chimney rock and lake lure all with ease. The layout of the house was also perfect for us as we had our 9 month old son and 2 dogs with us. We were able to set our son up in the guest room to sleep and go down to the basement to watch tv, go in the hot tub, etc without fear of waking him. This home has a fully fenced in area for dogs which was so helpful! They provide plenty of towels, soaps and other starters, that we used and appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and this home was great for us given our current phase of life. We were very happy with the location and layout and really enjoyed our trip. Ps. The neighbors down the road are phenomenal and really added to the fond memories that we made!!"

"We loved the closeness to nature, that it was safe, secluded and dog friendly. In fact, our dogs Gizmo and Inman have provided their opinions: We are 2 2yr old German Shepherds brothers from the same litter. Mom chose this property hoping we all would have a great time. Boy, did we. We enjoyed the 25 mile per hour twisty road on the way in. Heads out the window smelling fresh mountain air. Oh my gawd, there's a creek right here and a bridge. Look at all that field to run around in off leash.nMom said we have to be aware of possible bears and may be other people around. She was right...there was a bear up the road in someone's trash. We stayed on leash mostly as we did have a neighbor one day with a small kid and friendly golden retriever. Fenced-in shaded dog run directly off the basement. Only about 4 ft high but we weren't interested in getting over it. We had a great time running up incline, down the stairs (provided for hoomans, cause they don't do inclines) and under the trees. Mom loved that she could open the basement door and shoo us outside while relaxing in the hot tub in the non fenced area. Also had a water hose at the back door so we had easy access to water and getting feet washed off before going inside. We had everything we needed inside. Food/water bowls, poop bags, fluffy towels, nice snuggle blanket, and comfortable couch. Dinner was provided by Dad who cooked a steak on the grill. We played on a secure wrap around porch while Dad grilled and Mom made salad in a nice kitchen. Bedtime was great - we slept in a crate downstairs. If you wanna have a dog gone good time...come here. Woof, woof from pup boys . . . We had a very positive experience with Carolina Mornings and this property - we would recommend. 5-star bedding - kitchen was well stocked."

"My wife and I spent our wedding anniversary in Black Mountain and stayed in Black Bear cabin. We decided to take our 12 year old German Shepard to share the experience. It was a bucket list for us and we had a wonderful time. Roc really enjoyed the river and the fields. If you come to stay at the Black Bear cabin, go visit the Straightaway Cafe right down the road. Great and fun place. We look forward to our next trip to Black Mountain"

I would definitely recommend this spot to others. The hot tub was relaxing, and the fireplace provided a nice atmosphere. "Housekeeping did a great job. Black Bear Cabin was very clean. Had all we needed for our stay right there in the cabin including utensils, dishes, pots, blender, coffee pot, blankets, etc. The fenced in yard is a bonus to those with pets even though we didn't have any pets. Loved the hot tub. Cabin was cute and comfortable and cozy. "

We really enjoyed the time we spent at Black Bear Cabin! We found it very clean and exceptionally comfortable. We liked how secluded it felt and the creek nearby provided a nice background sound. The town of Black Mountain was cute and we got some delicious ice cream there. We especially enjoyed hiking each day and going to Asheville for dinner in the evening. The Chihuli exhibit at Biltmore was incredible. Thanks for the free ticket! We've already decided to come back next summer and stay at Black Bear Cabin again. Thank you so much for the lovely vacation!

"We had a great stay at Black Bear Cabin. The setting is lovely and the size of the cabin was just right for our family. It is in a good location to find activities in the surrounding area: Chimney Rock, Linville Gorge, Smokey Mountains National Park, North Carolina Arboretum, to name a few. Rating this stay 5 Stars."

"We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear. It was peaceful and serene. The cabin was very clean. We loved the Mountain Pass and it's a wonderful, thoughtful perk for guest. We utilized it at the Biltmore House. The cabin overall was perfect in every way. Clean floors, easy check-in and check-out, amenities were all that we needed. The app was very helpful and an impressive feature that Carolina Mornings offered. I would absolutely stay with Carolina Mornings again. Thank you for a great vacation! "

"So blessed to have this time of relaxation. Awesome hiking and appreciating God's creation. I want to bottle the sound of the creek and play it again, Our dog pack (Sophie and Little Bit) loved their yard and had the time of their lives ""guarding"" on the upper deck. Thank you for sharing your home and warmth with us. We are inspired to own such a cabin one day. It is heaven on earth!"

"Black Bear Cabin was perfect! We were excited driving up to the cabin. The grounds are well kept and actually breathtaking. The inside of the cabin was also well kept and had everything we needed. It was clean, and very cozy, as if were our own home. The cabin is centrally located to all of our hiking trips. Making the reservations was very organized. My family really enjoyed the stay in the cabin, and the visit to North Carolina. We will definitely be planning another trip back, and would love to stay in the same cabin. THANK YOU!!!"

Had such a blast relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying the beautiful mountain environment. Asheville was a great day trip (the Biltmore is a must see! Audio tour is great and don’t skip the gardens - in the spring I’m sure it’ll be even more amazing). We went to Tupelo Honey and it was amazing food (it’s a popular place so there might be a wait but it was worth it). Mainly this was just a wonderful reminder of how lovely our world really is.

PS check out Louise’s for Black Mountain breakfast - Amazing! "

We had a wonderful stay! The staff at Carolina Mornings went above and beyond and were always courteous and friendly. The level of customer service made you feel as if your stay was extremely important to the staff as well as the daily emails to ensure you are having a good time. The local box of goodies was an unexpected surprise and a nice touch. Our stay felt as if we have VIP service and yet we never saw anyone from the Carolina Mornings office. To accomplish that task is a quality you should be extremely proud of.

"It was the most relaxing stay and really took our mind off of any stresses going on back home. We felt like we were in a very solitary place and needed nothing else but the cabin and surroundings to enjoy our wonderful weekend. The cabin was perfectly equipped, and even had cookie cutters! :) The reservation process was a breeze as well and the woman who handles our reservation/payment was named Stephanie, and extremely friendly and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we can't wait to go again! Thank you so much! :)"
