Visiting The Biltmore Estate
With the summer season well under way, a visit to the Biltmore has become a "must-do” activity for travelers and locals alike. To serve as both an introduction and a refresher, we’ve put together a little cheat sheet with all the must know information regarding your visit!
Plan For a Full Day
The Biltmore Estate is so much more than just the biggest home in America. The gardens, the trails, the ponds, the restaurants - these are the parts that make up the whole at the Estate, but they can sometimes get glossed over. We suggest that you plan for a full day - maybe even two - to experience all that the Estate has to offer. Consider heading over in the morning for breakfast in Antler Village. Follow that up with a tour of the home and finished off with a stroll through the breathtaking gardens.
Make a Reservation
The house is the heart of the Estate and as such, it gets very crowded, very fast. The best way to ensure your entry is to call ahead and make a reservation. Busy days require a reservation, but calling ahead is a good general rule, no matter the day or time of year. The Biltmore Estate makes it easy to plan ahead - call 866-779-6293 to schedule your tour. The house is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and guests are required to be in the front doors by 5:00 PM.
Visit the Website
During the summer season, the Biltmore Estate puts on many events meant to enhance your visit. Before planning your trip to the Estate, check their website to see what events are happening. The summer concert series is currently going on until August 28th - tickets do sell out quickly, but the shows are truly remarkable!
At the end of a day of touring the house and grounds, you will be tired. The best way to plan for that well deserved exhaustion is to plan on staying local! Carolina Mornings has dozens of vacation rentals in and around the Asheville area, many of which are just a short drive to the Biltmore Estate. Returning to your home away from home will be just what you need at the end of a day of exploring. For a cabin that combines the serenity of the mountains with the convenience of easy access to town, check out Rainbow Ridge. With 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a private hot tub, and a pet friendly policy, Rainbow Ridge is the perfect choice for those looking for an authentic log cabin with all the comforts of home.
