The Brewgrass Festival Returns!

The Brewgrass Festival: An Asheville Favorite

Ah, September in the mountains! Not only does this mean that the daytime temperatures will begin to cool down, the leaves start to change, and the Autumn flowers begin to bloom, but it also brings with it some truly phenomenal local events. One such event, The Brewgrass Festival, is a local favorite for many reasons. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 17th, because this event is not one to miss - read on for more information!

What It Is
The Brewgrass Festival is an annual event that showcases local, regional, and national breweries right here in Beer City, USA. Founded in 1996, this event puts a shining spotlight on the brew masters that create some of the nation's finest beverages. At its core, this festival is a strong community event - in supporting the businesses that help North Carolina thrive, it brings together the people of our region for a common purpose of celebrating the local economy. And it doesn't stop there - a portion of all proceeds from the event goes directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina. So every dollar you spend at this super fun event also goes toward enriching and strengthening the families that make up our local community. A win-win!

Where It Is
Brewgrass is held every year on the infield at Memorial Stadium - just behind the McCormick Field baseball stadium - near Downtown Asheville. We always recommend that attendees bring a chair or a blanket to relax on the field, and prepare for all kinds of weather (September in the mountains is wonderful, though at times unpredictable). Parking is also quite limited at the field, so the event offers a shuttle to and from Downtown at the Vance Monument. The shuttle will run from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Or, book an Uber ride and use the promo code BREWGRASS to receive $20 off your first ride!
What To Expect
Simply put, you can expect to have a one of a kind experience at this event. You'll be surrounded by beer lovers, families, friends, musicians, and visitors to the area and all will be having a tremendous time. You'll have the unique opportunity to sample beers and ciders from 55 breweries while bluegrass infused music serenades you into the evening hours! As always with local events, please plan on a safe way to get home. Local taxi services are aplenty, and Uber has a strong local presence. Designated drivers are richly rewarded for their dedication to safety with discounted tickets ($25 a person) at the gate.

Where to Stay
Staying local is key to fully enjoying this event. Carolina Mornings has dozens of amazing vacation rentals, each one unique and beautiful.
