Halloween in Asheville, Part 2
Last week, we introduced you to a few of our favorite ways to celebrate Halloween Weekend in the mountains. This week, we want to offer a few more activities that we think are just perfect for those traveling to the mountains to celebrate the holiday. Read on for more Halloween-Fun suggestions!
Eliada Corn Maze
The Eliada Corn Maze is one of our favorite Autumn attractions. Explore the labyrinth, have fun on the giant jumping pillow, or hop on the cow train and the hayride for a ride through the fields. Looking for even more fun for the family? Check out the corn cannons, take a journey on the story trail, or let the kids loose to climb on the Spider Web Climber. The fun is limitless! The last day to enjoy the fun in October 23rd, so be sure to plan a trip while you can!
Historic Haunted House Tour
Looking for some classic (and educational) Halloween family fun? Head over to the Round Knob Lodge for a Historic Haunted House Tour! Put on by the Swannanoa Valley Museum, this exceptional exhibition will take you through the historic Round Knob Lodge, build in the 1930's by Southern Railroad executives to be a rustic mountain retreat. Rich in history, the hotel served as a fancy way stop for executives, employees, and wealthy friends and investors before burning down in 1903. This year's tour will give a background on how the railroad was built and all of the many changes that it brought to our gorgeous valley.
Haunted LaZoom Bus Tour
The Haunted LaZoom Bus Tour is one of the best ways to put a humorous yet spooky spin on the holiday. The comedic wizards at LaZoom know exactly how to show the riders a good time, and their delivery is just spot on! Asheville has a sordid and fascinating past, by many accounts, and this themed bus tour will share all the gritty details with those brave enough to hop on. Bring your own beer or wine (no liquor), and get ready to laugh, to gasp, and to jump in fright. This is an adult only event - you must be 21 or older to drink, and 17 or older to attend.
Staying local brings your visit to the mountains to the next level of comfort and convenience. Over a holiday weekend, when the days are packed with activity and adventure, there is nothing like returning to your own home away from home to just relax, unwind, and rejuvenate. Traveling with the family over Halloween Weekend? Check out Cardinal's Cove! This gorgeous property is one of the newest additions to the Carolina Mornings Program, and it is a true mountain gem. With hard wood floors throughout, high ceilings, custom details, and covered decks, Cardinal's Cove has all the key elements needed for a memorable vacation! Oh, and did we mention that it's situated in the ever-charming Cheshire Village, located in Black Mountain and just a short drive from Downtown Asheville? You'll fall in love with this delightful home - we just know it!
