Event Watch: 2017 Spring LEAF Festival!

The LEAF Festival Returns!

The LEAF Festival is one of the most popular events in the area... and for good reason! Now in its 22nd year, the festival delights Western North Carolina twice a year with a family friendly, music and art oriented event staged in Black Mountain, NC. Scheduled for the weekend of May 11th - 14th, this year's Spring Festival will be one for the books. Read on for more information about this quickly approaching event!

Who, What, Where
This May, LEAF will celebrate it's 44th festival and among the incredible performers on this year's line up will be Macy Gray! Tickets are sure to sell out quickly, so we recommend arranging your trip to the area now. As always, the Festival will take place on the historic and beautiful grounds of Black Mountain College, with mountains and lakes as the backdrop and a community of excited and welcoming folks enjoying the springtime weather.

Festival goers can feel confident that while they're enjoying the music, the art, the food and the community, their attendance is benefiting cultural arts education programming on both a local and a global level. Youth programs in over 20 WNC communities receive a positive impact from the event, while LEAF International, another arm of the LEAF non-profit organization, has cultural preservation programs in 10 countries worldwide. By celebrating art and music with the communities of WNC, positive growth is encouraged on a global scale. Feels good, doesn't it!

Stay Local
Staying in a home away from home is a great option for families traveling to the area. While festival goers can camp at LEAF, many families with younger children find that staying in a well appointed, comfortable vacation home makes all the difference to your experience of the event. For a home located in a charming Black Mountain community called "Village of Cheshire", check out Cardinal Cove - a lovely home boasting soaring ceilings, covered decks, and a fully equipped kitchen. Traveling with a group? Six of these gorgeous homes are in the Carolina Mornings Program and are accessible to one another by well manicured wooded paths. You'll fall in love with this delightful community of homes - we just know it!
