Carolina Mornings Spotlight: Hendersonville, NC

Hendersonville, NC: A Perfect Mountain Town
With Autumn just around the corner, we've got all things Fall on the mind. Hendersonville, NC - aside from being a delightful and historic small mountain town - is widely considered home to those distinctly Fall flavors like apple, pumpkin, and blackberry. We at Carolina Mornings love this town no matter the season, but for those that have yet to experience its charm, Autumn is a great time to become familiar. Read on for more suggestions on how to plan your day in Hendersonville!

Apple Picking
We wrote recently about apple picking in Hendersonville, NC, but we would be remiss if we didn't list it once again as one of our favorite activities for a day in Hendersonville. We particularly love heading out to the farm stands in the early morning to gather the day's fresh fruit (and apple cider doughnuts!), but if you can devote and hour or two to meandering through the orchards to pick the sweetest of the fruits, we highly recommend it

Tour the Historic Downtown
Downtown Historic Hendersonville is such a delightful town to explore. Not only are there toy shops and wine shops and locally owned boutiques, but there are several excellent museums for those rainy days when you just don't want to stay inside. If you're traveling with the kiddos, we recommend stopping by Hands On! - it's a fantastic place for kids to simultaneously play and learn!

Grab a Bite
Hendersonville is home to several amazing restaurants and we couldn't possibly choose a favorite, but if you are looking for a classic/retro themed restaurant, we suggest heading over to Mikes on Main. An old-fashioned soda shop, Mike's rounds out a day of good old-fashioned fun! Grab a burger and an Italian soda, or a delicious malt, and enjoy the workings of a small, timeless mountain town!

Staying local is a great way to experience life in a small North Carolina town. Carolina Mornings has several homes located in and around Hendersonville - each one unique and beautifully decorated.
