Carolina Mornings Spotlight: 3 Summer Events in Asheville

Don't Miss Out on these 3 Summer Events in Asheville
Summer is on its way to the mountains, and for Asheville and the surrounding communities, that means dozens of outdoor events and festivals are on the docket! Our dance cards are quickly filling up with all the events that we want to catch and we are downright giddy about all of the fun we're going to have. To help out those heading to the mountains in the next few months, we've put together a brief introduction to 3 events that have us particularly excited. Read on to learn more!

June: Brevard Blues and BBQ Festival
Every year, the Brevard Music Center organizes a summer concert series. Communities all over Western North Carolina find themselves looking eagerly forward to the warm season so that they can experience all of the new music that the Music Center has planned for us! The 3rd annual Blues Festival, one of several events in the series, is slated to take place over the weekend of June 3rd - 4th and we couldn't be more excited for this event. Live music, outdoor vendors, food vendors, a barbecue cook-off - what could be better than heading over to Brevard with a car full of friends to experience this fun event? For more information about performances and tickets, head over to the Festival Website!

July: LEAF Downtown
The 2nd annual LEAF Downtown is scheduled for the last weekend of July, the 30th - 31st! Three stages will showcase national, regional, and local talent, so this is a fantastic event for those looking to be introduced to some really fun and possibly brand new performers. Family events, interactive art installations, and the LEAF Art Dash 5k will also be featured. Be sure to make it to this event as it does a lot to support our local economy (over 90 local vendors, organizations, and nonprofits will be in attendance!). The lineup and the theme will be formally announced on June 7th, so stay tuned for more LEAF news! For more information about this event, head over to the Festival Website!

August: Jam in the Trees
Jam in the Trees is a brand new event for Black Mountain and it'll take place at Pisgah Brewing Company - widely considered to be one of the area's funnest venues. - over the weekend of August 26th - 27th. This is an Americana Festival, but believe us - there will be a wide variety of musicians and many genres will be represented. If you love country, roots-rock, bluegrass, R&B, and folk, this Festival will be right up your alley! As of May, the lineup includes such names as The Wood Brothers, Willie Watson, Chatham County Line, and more. For more information about performances and for tickets, head over to the Pisgah Brewing's Website!
