The streets of Waynesville, NC will be alive with apple lovers this Saturday, October 17th.  The Apple Harvest Festival, an annual event taking place in Waynesville since 1989, is one of the area’s favorite festivals for all of the obvious reasons.  The pie, the cider, the donuts.  The miasma of Fall colors, the merriment, the seasonal brews. All these things and so much more makes the Apple Harvest Festival in Waynesville a must-do event.

1. What is it the Apple Harvest Festival?

The Apple Harvest Festival is an annual celebration of all things apple, taking place this year on Saturday,October 17th from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Now in its 26th year, the Festival has had plenty of time to become a well beloved and highly cherished event for the communities of Western North Carolina.  Emphasizing all of the things that make Autumn on the East Coast such a magnificent time of year, the Apple Harvest Festival is one of those events that you just have to participate in if you’re in the area during the Fall season

 
 

2. Where does it take place?

3. What should I expect?

You should expect to have fun and to leave with a belly full of apple goodness. The event features local food, baked goods and beverages - all sharing the common theme of "comforting”.  In addition to some truly sumptuous fare, local handmade crafts and art will dot the main sreet and festival goers can jump on an opportunity to speak with some of the area’s very talented artists.  Finally, it wouldn’t be a North Carolina festival if it didn’t feature some live music!  Mountain music and cloggers will grace the stage throughout the day.

 
 

4. Will it be fun for kids?

The Apple Harvest Festival is one of the best seasonal festivals in the area for kids because it is at its core such a family friendly, wholesome event.  To make it even more kid-friendly, festival makers have created a children’s play area that has additional activities and games, sure to keep them entertained.  We’ve also never met a kid that doesn’t like a warm slice of apple pie with a dollop of homemade ice cream melting on top!
